How To Take Care of Your Mental Health During a Job Search

A job search can be challenging at any time, but with the current situation, it can become mentally taxing.

I recently had a Zoom meeting with eleven other headhunters in different industries. The one thing we all agreed upon, mindset is huge when looking for a new job.

Job hunting can be a mentally exhausting task.

You submit your resume to an online job and never hear back. You get ghosted by HR and recruiters. Not getting an interview when getting past the screening. These are just a few of the frustrating examples of a job search. 😡😡😡

Want to make it through a job search with a positive attitude? Here are a few tips for you.

⏰ Create a job search routine. Set your alarm and wake up at a regular time, take lunch and periodic breaks, and at the end of the day, turn the computer off.

🏋️‍♂️ Give yourself some time not to think about the job search. Take a walk, meditate, run, or go to the gym, anything you can do to pass the time without thinking about the hunt.

👍 Make a conscious decision to speak with friends and family during this time.

Start your day out with a gratitude list. Gratitude helps counterbalance negative thought patterns by focusing on the good.

What is the most frustrating part of a job search for you?
